A Black hair victory

In my post titled "Black Hair on the Move", I discussed the steps that I had to take to prepare myself to be self sufficient with my hair care in New Zealand since I was not going to assume that I would be able to find someone who was skilled at caring for Black hair. I also shared some pictures in a later post titled "Eachother is all we need", I showed how my amazing husband took the instructions of my stylist in the US and applied my relaxer touchup for the first time. He's done it twice and the second time my hair looked better than the first; a reflection of the improvements in technique. Randy is a fast learner.

I am so happy to say that today my daughter Makayla and I were able to get our hair done by a lovely stylist. She is from Zimbabwe. She applied my relaxer and gave me a little trim (I was pleased to hear that I barely had any split ends) and a style. She washed and pressed my daughter's hair and gave her a much needed trim as well.

I am so grateful to have found someone I think I can trust with my and my daughter's hair in New Zealand, and only just under 15min drive from my house.
