Cleaning and Testing

Last night it was all hands on deck cleaning the first floor of our house. The Estate Sale was a success and the team did such a great job of clearing out anything that was left and doing a bit of a clean. Our upstairs had already been professionally cleaned after the shippers loaded up the container. We swept and mopped and wiped down cabinet shelves and cleaned the fridge. This morning we handed over the keys to the new homeowners and Randy gave them a tour of the home. I and the kids hung out at my dearest neighbor's house one last time while he handled that. I really couldn't bear to be involved.

This morning, before heading back to the house to hand over the keys, we all went and did our pre-travel COVID testing. I forgot to take a picture of Makayla, but they were all such troopers. Nervous before hand, but in true Sillik fashion, they did what they needed to do and got the job done. No complaints. We leave early tomorrow morning for LAX. It has been an emotional last few weeks. Final hugs from family whether in person or on video chat have brought on tears on both sides. We are resolute in our decisions and we are ready for this adventure, but we are human, and definitely feeling the effects of doing all the hard things. This part of the marathon is coming to an end, but the journey is only beginning.
