I don't do New Years Resolutions

I'm not writing to rain on any parades. I am consistent in my policy to not make New Years Resolutions because I have always seen how superficial and very short lived they can be. I believe in reflection being a regular practice throughout the year and envisioning self improvement a constant state of mind. That being said, at the end of 2019, the phrase Go Where You are Valued came to me as a clear message. It is what inspired me to make professional changes, I used it to inspire others to make moves in their lives that they desperately needed and it also served as my guide when deciding that I had had enough of demanding a country give me what I deserved as a human being. This mantra has served me well.

It is New Years Eve and I think on all of those who will not see 2022 and of all of the new life I witnessed come into the world. I am grateful for the health and wellbeing of my family and friends and I pray for those who are grieving.

A few things that I wish for all who follow my blog:

** See the world as it truly is, not what it pretends to be

** Remember that your life has value and that life is short

** Work toward making your corner of the world a better place but do not allow the pain and inequities of the world swallow you up and steal your joy

** Do not beg for belonging. Seek where your peace and joy exists and do what you must to get there

Sometimes the grass really is greener elsewhere. Oftentimes the one most in your way is you. Don't wait for a new year to make the changes in your self and your life that you could make throughout the year.

Happy New Years!!!!!
