Stay in the moment AND take the pictures!

Since arriving to New Zealand, the kids have had multiple growth spurts. They are growing into themselves, and it's been fun and interesting to watch. Now that Micah has surpassed me in height, it was time for another family photoshoot. I couldn't think of using anyone else other than our same photographer from 2021 and Piha still seemed to be the best place to capture our family. It just so happened that the shoot date was the day after my dad and stepmother landed so we were able to get some grandparent photos as well.

Sophie, our photographer, told me that capturing family portraits is not something that Kiwis usually do- most of her clients for that type of photography are from overseas. We talked about how important it is to capture moments and milestones in time that sit one way in your mind but goes past in a blur. Being able to freeze them to look back on later is something I have come to value as the children have gotten older.

I say, recognize the passage of time and the changes that come with it. Hold onto the moments as they happen and do whatever you can to not forget the precious details.
