The Wellbeing Team

In our MIQ packets, there is guidance about what to expect as well as the resources available to us. This includes the Nursing and Wellbeing teams. When we have our health checks, the mental health of every family member is assessed and questions about anxiety and other concerns are asked. All of our needs are met here and we have been continuously impressed. My nurse thanked me today for understanding as we discussed the ravages of the Delta variant and how being vaccinated is simply not enough at this time. She admits that it is exhausting having to deal with travelers from all over the world who aren't able to or simply don't want to understand or appreciate this. She says that they are committed to doing this right and I believe her.

This morning there came a knock at our door and a masked gentleman in military fatigues ( this is a facility manned by healthcare as well as military personnel) dropped off three bags, each with one of the kids names on it with age appropriate toys and activity as well as learning school books. Randy and I were so touched when we read that these were donated by schools and businesses in the Rotorua community. Of course I'd packed puzzles and books and art supplies and Randy has them covered with electronics, but this was definitely such a kind gesture.
